Dr. Tarik Serrano is currently a Prometeo Researcher in the Department of Organizational and Human Development Studies (DESODEH) of the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador. He undertook his PhD in the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technologies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His research topics have focused on incorporating and developing methods for the MuSIASEM approach. He has experience in GIS, analysis of rural systems, energy and food. Tarik has led or participated in projects in India, Laos, Catalonia, Guatemala, USA, Mauritius and Ecuador. He is currently developing integrated methods of analysis for rural territories under the MuSIASEM scheme for the assessment and new design of agrarian policies in Ecuador, addressed to public institutions, non-governmental organizations and research centers.
